David Finch, M.Ed., CSCS
Owner & Founder Head Strength & Conditioning Coach David has been training athletes and fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities for over 20 years, and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). With all of his athletes, David’s mission is to maximize their physical and athletic potential, minimize their potential for injury, and mentally prepare them for the highest levels of competition. In addition to owning and operating The Combine, David is also a Strength & Conditioning Coach at Middleton (WI) High School where he designs and implements programming for all boys & girls sports grades 9 - 12. David brings a highly valued and unique array of skills to the athletic training industry, which distinguishes him from his peers and has enabled him to work effectively with a broad spectrum of clients with varying needs. In addition to the work that he has done with athletes, David has served as a School Psychologist in the Chicago Public Schools since 1997, supporting both special education and regular education students across the city from preschool through high school levels. David is a specialist in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of students experiencing educational disabilities, including Learning Disabilities, Cognitive Impairments, Emotional Disturbances, Autism, and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Education and motivation embody the fundamental components of David’s training philosophy, while inspiring you to achieve your goals is his passion. Regardless of your sport, your vocation, or prior training experience, you will acquire the of level fitness -- both mental and physical -- needed to reach your true athletic potential at The Combine. |
Jovon Johnson
Director of Defensive Back Training Jovon grew up and attended high school in Erie, Pennsylvania. Following an illustrious college career at the University of Iowa, where he earned first team All-Big Ten Honors as a senior in 2005 and still ranks third in career interceptions with 17, Jovon began his professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2006. Jovon then went on to excel in the Canadian Football League (CFL), where was the winner of the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award in 2011, becoming the first defensive back to win the award in league history. Additionally, he was a two-time CFL All-Star and five-time CFL East Division All-Star. |
